Apple Inc.  2006 – 2013

http://www.apple.com/support/

I was a full time employee at Apple for six years. From mid 2011 to 2013 I was a lead web producer and UI Engineer for AppleCare. With AppleCare I was directly responsible for the implementation of several prototypes. I worked in an inter-organizational group which coordinated efforts with Marcom, Apple Store and IT to develop ‘black’ projects. In addition to my prototyping responsibilities, I was the lead engineer for retina-ization of all the site graphic assets and I created the frontend solution for Apple’s Internet Services Status monitor. The system status page delivers outage notifications in 36 languages and includes a custom built 2D canvas solution which is rendered from ReSTful JSON service data. The application uses a unique jQuery MVC design which is very extensible and easy to support.

iCloud Systems Engineer

http://www.icloud.com

Prior to AppleCare, I spent two and a half years developing internal applications for the then yet unreleased iCloud services. I was responsible for the design and implementation of frontend components and had some responsibilities in backend development and design of internal infrastructure projects. My applications still support database systems for iCloud and iTunes as well as the operational efforts of other systems.

MobileMe Experience

http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus

My first role at Apple was in MobileMe Engineering Support. Back then, I regularly fielded executive escalations and worked with engineering, QA and support organizations to identify, quantify and resolve major bugs in the service. I was also responsible for the design and implementation of the support tool, the system status services and the message of the day publishing systems, these have all developed into robust enterprise support applications that are integral to Apple’s internet operations and support infrastructure. I also published numerous procedural documents, customer facing knowledge articles and internal metrics reports.

Exodus Inc. 2000 – 2005 Information Security Engineer

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exodus_Communications

At Exodus, I designed workflow applications and tools to monitor and support the Abuse desk, which received many thousands of emails every day. I was directly responsible for automating the analysis of threats reported by intrusion detection systems around the world.
